Kazakhstan Men's Hockey Team Wins Gold Medal at 2025 Asian Games

The Kazakhstan men's ice hockey team became the champion of the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin (China). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstan hockey team won a shutout victory in the final, defeating the Japanese team with a score of 5:0. Andrei Buyalskiy (18th minute), Dmitry Breus (22nd) and Roman Starchenko (38th, in the majority) scored one goal each. Kirill Panyukov (43rd, 45th) scored twice, scoring the second goal in the majority. Goalkeeper Andrei Shutov blocked all 13 shots on goal.

The Kazakhstan national team won all eight matches of the tournament in regular time with a total score of 73:4. The team became a five-time champion of the Asian Games.

“This triumph was yet another confirmation of the strength of Kazakhstani hockey and returned our team to the top of the Asian Games,” the Ministry of Tourism emphasized.

It should be noted that the Japanese took silver, and the South Korean team took bronze.

What else is known

The Kazakhstan women's hockey team won silver at the Asian Games. In the decisive match, the Kazakhstani athletes won a confident victory over South Korea with a score of 3:0.

By the way, the Japanese team came in first place, and the Chinese team came in third.

This is the seventh medal for the women's hockey team of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Asian Games (three golds, three bronzes) and the first silver award in history.

   

In total, at the IX Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Kazakhstan won three gold, nine silver and seven bronze medals.
