The suspects in the death of Sherzat Polat allegedly threw a party and celebrated their birthdays in a pretrial detention center. The video was filmed on February 8-9 in a temporary detention center in the Yenbekshikazakh district of Almaty region. It was published by UlysMedia.

On January 22, the police reported the completion of the investigation into the murder of a minor that occurred on the night of October 4 last year. The parties are currently familiarizing themselves with the pre-trial investigation materials. After that, the criminal case will be sent to the prosecutor to check its legality and make a decision on whether to transfer it to court.

The Almaty Region Police Department commented on the incident.

"A comprehensive investigation is underway into the dissemination of a video recording from the temporary detention facility, which shows the birthday celebration of one of the arrested. All guilty parties, including the management, will be held strictly accountable. The investigation has been placed under special control. Measures have been taken to eliminate the causes and conditions that contributed to this offense," the statement said.

Let us recall that on October 4, 2024, a shocking incident occurred in the Almaty region – a group of young people beat 16-year-old teenager Sherzat Bolat to death. The brutal beating was filmed by local residents on video.

On the night of October 12, the house of the deceased's family burned down. Sherzat's relatives linked the fire to the actions of the suspects.
