Almaty police identify authors of song from Temirlan Yensebek's Instagram

The Almaty Police Department stated that the initiation of a criminal case against Temirlan Yensebek is not related to his “so-called satirical publications,” Informburo reports .

"He posted material (the song "Yo, orystar" – editor's note ) containing clear signs of incitement of interethnic hatred, expressed by insults to representatives of an entire ethnic group. This is unacceptable in our multinational country, where, according to the Constitution, no one can be subject to any discrimination based on origin, nationality, language, attitude to religion or any other circumstances. Responsibility for such violations is provided for by Article 174 of the Criminal Code," the department explained.

The police also commented on the administrative arrests of journalists and activists who held single-person pickets in support of Yensebek. The DP noted that these individuals "intentionally held unauthorized single-person pickets, consciously violating the established procedure for holding mass events," which is an offense, and by court order they were brought to administrative responsibility.

In addition, the police reported that the investigation is currently identifying the authors of the song from Temirlan Yensebek's Instagram.

"Kazakhstan is a multinational country where people of different cultures, traditions and religions live in peace and harmony. Any actions that destroy this harmony are unacceptable and will be suppressed within the framework of the law," the press service of the Almaty DP concluded.

Let us recall that the author of the satirical public Qaznews24, Temirlan Yensebek, was detained on the evening of January 17.
