A Finnish court has arrested the tanker Eagle S, suspected of belonging to Russia's "shadow" fleet
The arrest was made at the request of the Finnish energy company Fingrid and the Estonian Elering, which own the Estlink 2 power cable, as well as the telecommunications company Elisa, which owns two cables leading from Finland to Estonia.
The companies believe that the tanker’s owner, Caravella, is liable for the damage caused by the anchor’s damage to the cables. They added that the rupture of the Estlink 2 electrical cable has caused and continues to cause significant damage to them.
The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing, and the total amount of damage will be determined. The amount of damage caused to Elisa will also be determined.
