Universal Pictures has released the first teaser for the animated film Shrek 5.

The short video featured familiar main characters, as well as Shrek and Fiona's grown-up daughter, Felicia, voiced by Zendaya.

The cartoon will be released on December 23, 2026. The plot is still unknown.

In 2024, actor Eddie Murphy (who voices Donkey) told Collider in an interview that there would be a spin-off about Donkey in the future, and work on it would begin after the release of the fifth Shrek.

The first Shrek appeared in 2001, and the latest, fourth part was released in 2010. The franchise also includes two films about Puss in Boots.
