A resident of Pavlodar was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl. This is reported by Kazinform. The criminal case was heard behind closed doors in the criminal court of Pavlodar region.

According to investigators, a 26-year-old man was in an apartment on Pavlova Street with a 14-year-old girl. The man began to harass the girl and attempted to rape her. The victim broke free and jumped out the window. The suspect went after her and caught up with her, then dragged her into the bushes, where he hoped to rape her. At that moment, a patrol car drove by, the criminal got scared and ran away.

The court sentenced the man to 15 years in prison. His guilt was proven by the testimony of witnesses, experts and expert opinions. He will serve his sentence in a medium-security facility. He will be banned for life from holding teaching positions or positions related to working with minors.

Earlier in Pavlodar, a manager of a private football club who raped a girl was sentenced to life imprisonment.
