Kazakhstan plans to discuss the drone attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) facility with Ukraine through diplomatic channels. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov.

“This is an important issue for the economy of Kazakhstan, and we will naturally discuss this situation with our Ukrainian partners through diplomatic channels,” commented Smadiyarov, as quoted by KazTAG.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Akan Rakhmetullin also said:

"We know about the situation. There was a statement from the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan that although strikes were made, oil is pumping in the same volume. Naturally, we will communicate with the Ukrainian side, talk, there will be meetings. There will definitely be contacts here or in Kiev. We must resolve these issues diplomatically in order to avoid this in the future," Informburo quotes .

Let us recall that on February 17, the CPC oil transportation facility, the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, through which Kazakhstan’s oil is also pumped, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

As it turned out the next day, as a result of the attack, the volume of pumped Kazakh oil risks decreasing by 30% for a period of one and a half to two months. According to expert Olzhas Baidildinov, the loss of revenue to the Kazakh budget due to the drone attack could amount to about 300 billion tenge.

It is known that Kiev has officially confirmed the attack on the facility: the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published on social media confirmation of the attack on Russian oil refineries, including the Kropotkinskaya station, carried out on February 17.
