The Almaty Administrative Offenses Court found co-founders of the feminist organization Feminita Gulzada Serzhan and Zhanar Sekerbayeva guilty under Part 9 of Article 489 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan – "Management of the activities of unregistered public associations, as well as whose activities have been suspended or prohibited." They were fined 100 MCI – 393,200 tenge. This was reported by a journalist from The Village Kazakhstan, who was present at the online court hearings of the activists.

Gulzada's trial was held online on February 19

During the trial, lawyer Galym Nurpeisov was outraged by the way the protocol on the case was drawn up, which, by the way, was not provided to Gulzade for review in advance. As a result, the author of the protocol became confused and asked to call his superiors.

Zhanar's trial took place on February 21.

During the trial, police inspector Daniyar Azikenov stated that Sekerbaeva had previously been charged with violating the procedure for holding peaceful assemblies (2014) and petty hooliganism (2018). Lawyer Galym Nurpeisov recalled that it was now 2025 and asked the inspector to present objective evidence. The inspector stated that this evidence was recorded on social networks. "This is a well-known fact," said Inspector Azikenov.

Lawyer Galym Nurpeisov noted that this was not indicated in the protocol.

The inspector then stated that Zhanar is the head of an “unregistered public association.” According to him, he made this conclusion after watching many videos of her on Feminita’s Instagram. In turn, Zhanar said that she did not agree with this wording — she is a co-founder, not the head of any public association. Zhanar also stated that she did not agree with the court’s decision, emphasizing that she “is not listed anywhere as the head of a public association.”

The trials were related to a legal event that Feminita held in Almaty last week, which the head of the Kazakhstan Union of Parents, Bagila Baltabayeva, tried to disrupt .

By the way, there are no reports of the attackers being held accountable.
