Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement in which he reaffirmed his country's commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

In his statement, he stressed that Ukraine is ready to begin negotiations as soon as possible to achieve lasting peace. Zelensky noted that no one wants peace more than the Ukrainians themselves.

“My team and I stand ready to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to achieve lasting peace,” Zelensky wrote.

The first steps toward ending the war, according to Zelensky, could be the release of prisoners, a ceasefire in the skies, and an immediate ceasefire at sea—if Russia does the same.

The Ukrainian president also referred to Friday's failed meeting at the White House, expressing regret about it: "It's time to fix everything. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive."

Speaking about the agreement on mineral resources and security, Zelensky confirmed his readiness to sign it at any time and in any convenient format. The President of Ukraine views this agreement as a step towards firm security guarantees, expressing hope for its effective functioning.

By the way, the draft treaty, which was to be signed in Washington, left open the question of security guarantees from the United States.

In his statement, Zelensky noted the value of U.S. assistance in maintaining Ukraine's sovereignty and independence. He recalled the moment that "changed everything" when Trump provided Ukraine with Javelin missiles during his first term.
