Dosayev admitted that he trusts women more than men
Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dosayev admitted that he trusts women more than men. At a meeting with residents of the Bostandyk district, the official noted that women occupy leading positions in the akimat, Kazinform reports .
Almaty residents asked Dosayev about gender representation in the akimat: “Why are there so few women in leadership positions in the akimat?”
In this regard, according to the mayor, Almaty is a unique city.
"I have two district akims [out of eight] who are women, this is not the case anywhere else. My department heads are women. My deputy is Asem Nusipova. Of course, we do not have ideal gender equality yet, but women hold leading positions in the akimat. Honestly, I trust them more than men, because they are reliable," said Erbolat Dosayev.
The share of women in the civil service in Kazakhstan remains stable: 55.8% in 2024, 55.6% in 2023, 55.4% in 2022. The representation of women in leadership positions is at the level of 39–40%.
