In Almaty, a mural with a kitten from the cartoon "Kitten Named Gav" was painted over. The video of two men painting over the street art was posted by the author of the mural, Pasha Kas.

"Now Kitten Gav is under a gray layer of paint, smog and gray everyday life," the artist wrote. According to Kas, the mayor's office ordered the owner to paint over the mural.

The editors contacted the press service of the Almaty Akimat for comment.

Earlier, on January 16, a photo of the painted over mural appeared in the 2Gis application, the author of the photo is Milana K.

It should be noted that the drawing with the cartoon character, who calls "Let's be afraid together", appeared in Almaty between Makataeva and Mametova in 2017. This is one of the most famous street art works in the city.
