Donald Trump officially sworn in as US President

The inauguration of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, took place in Washington on January 20. Let us recall that this is his second term – the first was from January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2021. In the November 2024 elections, Trump received 277 of the 270 required votes. His opponent from the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris, received 224 of 270 votes.

Donald Trump is the Republican nominee who proposes a more conservative course of policy in the United States. In addition, one of Trump's statements was that if he wins, he will stop a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine "within 24 hours." In general, according to the Republican platform, Trump and his supporters plan to achieve "peace through strength" in the framework of foreign policy.

Along with Vice President J.D. Vance, Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.
