If Orban does not extend sanctions, it will become clear that he is on Putin's team – Polish PM
If Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban blocks sanctions against Russia, it will mean that he is on Russia’s side. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on his X (Twitter) page on Friday, January 25.
“If Viktor Orban really does block European sanctions at a key moment in the war, it will be absolutely clear that in this great game for the security and future of Europe, he is playing on Putin’s team, not ours,” Tusk wrote.
He noted that this fact will entail certain consequences.
The sanctions against Russia expire next week. On January 24, Orban set conditions for Ukraine to extend them. He wants Ukraine to resume transit of Russian gas and to guarantee that it will not stop oil transit.
