Traffic restricted on highway in two regions of Kazakhstan

In the Abay region and the East Kazakhstan region, traffic restrictions have been introduced for all types of transport on sections of the republican highway "Almaty – Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk – Shemonaikha – Russian border". This was reported by the press service of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol.

“On February 2, 2025, at 15:30, due to worsening weather conditions, traffic restrictions will be introduced on the following republican highways for all types of vehicles,” the statement said.

In the Abay region, traffic is closed on the section from the village of Kalbatau to the border with East Kazakhstan region (kilometers 971-1013), and in the East Kazakhstan region – from the border with the Abay region to the village of Ulanskoye (kilometers 1013-1048).

From 16:00 in the Abay region, restrictions have also been introduced on the Ust-Kamenogorsk – Semey highway on the section from Semey to the border with East Kazakhstan region (kilometers 103-198).

The following sections of the East Kazakhstan region are closed:

— “Ust-Kamenogorsk – Semey” from the village of Gerasimovka to the border with the Abay region (km 10-103);
— “Almaty – Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk – Shemonaikha – border of the Russian Federation” from the village of Predgornoye to the city of Shemonaikha (km 1125-1191);
— from the city of Shemonaikha to the border with the Russian Federation (km 1194-1212).

The opening of traffic is expected on February 3 at 6:00.
