SCAT Airlines launches direct flight Shymkent – Budapest

Direct flights to Budapest are planned to be launched on May 27, 2025 from Shymkent. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.

"Starting May 27, Kazakhstan's SCAT airline plans to open a new route to Hungary in the direction of Shymkent-Budapest. Flights will be operated twice a week (on Tuesdays and Saturdays) on Boeing 737 aircraft," the statement said.

It is expected that the opening of air traffic will contribute to the further development of trade, economic, business and tourism cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary.

According to information from the SCAT website, tickets are already on sale:

  • Shymkent – Budapest from 122,740 tenge;
  • Budapest – Shymkent from 140,168 tenge.

Travel time is 5 hours and 30 minutes. A Schengen visa is required for entry.
