Kaspi co-owner Vyacheslav Kim may buy Jusan Bank
One of the shareholders of Kaspi.kz, Vyacheslav Kim, is acquiring a controlling stake in Jusan Bank. Forbes Kazakhstan reported this, citing a source familiar with the situation. We are talking about 99.74% of the bank's ordinary shares, which belong to Akhmetzhan Yesimov's former son-in-law, Galimzhan Yesenov.
Jusan Bank did not comment on this issue.
Bloomberg wrote in September 2024 that Vyacheslav Kim was considering the possibility of buying Jusan Bank. citing its sources. The publication then reported that while Kim was exploring the possibility of an acquisition, there was no guarantee that the deal would be completed.
“If the deal goes through, Kim will receive a controlling stake in Jusan Bank by buying out Yesenov’s share,” the agency wrote.
Forbes Kazakhstan ranked Vyacheslav Kim first in the ranking of the richest Kazakhstani businessmen in 2024. His fortune is estimated at 5.8 billion US dollars. In the global ranking of Forbes billionaires, the shareholder of Kaspi.kz is in 511th place.
