The government does not plan to develop a law on “foreign agents” — Ministry of Justice

The government's legislative work plan does not include the development of a bill "on foreign agents." This was reported by the publication "Vlast" with reference to officials from the Ministry of Justice.

“The government’s legislative work plan does not include the development of a bill on the issue of foreign agents,” the Ministry of Justice stated.

Earlier, Irina Smirnova, a deputy from the People's Party of Kazakhstan (PPK) faction, proposed developing such a law. According to her, Kazakhstan needs to protect its national interests from the activities of organizations such as USAID. Smirnova asked the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop and adopt a law "On Foreign Agents".
