New York Film Academy Campus Opens in Kazakhstan. Student Admission Begins

A campus of the New York Film Academy (NYFA) has opened in Kazakhstan. It has become the third campus outside the United States and the first world-class creative university in Kazakhstan. Training will begin this fall, and the teaching staff will be specialists from the United States, the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported .

“The online ceremony of signing the agreement on the start of activities took place on March 1 at the Energo University site with the participation of the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Sayasat Nurbek, and the president of the New York Film Academy, Michael Young,” the statement said.

When will the training start?

Training at the branch of the world-famous academy will begin on September 29, 2025, on a modern campus on the territory of the Energo University Creative Industries Park in the city of Kaskelen near Almaty.

Who will teach?

Teaching at the branch will be conducted in person by professional NYFA lecturers, who come specially from the USA, in five areas within the framework of one-year and short-term training programs: Filmmaking; Producing; Screenwriting; Animation and visual effects (3D animation & VFX); Game development (Game design).

Who will be able to study?

The Academy plans to accept up to 200 students from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries in the region (China, India, Russia and others) in its first intake.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates will receive diplomas from an American university and the opportunity to continue their education in New York or Los Angeles.
