The republican highway was flooded in Kostanay region
Due to the sharp warming and active melting of snow on March 16 in Kostanay region there was a flooding of a section of the national road KZ 10-05 "Entrance to the village of Marinovka" at the ninth kilometer. "KazAvtoZhol" reports that the length of the overflow is about 40 meters, and the water level reaches ten centimeters.
"This section is located in the neutral zone between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on the Zhelkuar River (dry land). Due to the lack of a bridge crossing on this section, overflow occurs annually," the report says.
A 24-hour watch has been organized at the site, signal posts have been installed. Two units of special equipment and three specialists have been deployed to ensure safety. Traffic on the highway is currently not restricted.
The Kazakh authorities are negotiating with the Russian Federation on the joint construction of a bridge to address the problem of annual flooding.
