Villagers cross by boat after crossing breaks in Aktobe region

In the village of Uil in the Aktobe region, transport communication has been completely suspended. After the destruction of a temporary crossing, local residents are forced to cross the river by boat. This was reported by Moi Gorod.

The crossing was first flooded on March 15, when a sudden warming and rising level of the River Uil caused the water to wash away the embankment. The main bridge was destroyed last spring, and its replacement has not yet been completed.

For traffic safety, police officers were sent to the river, pedestrians were allowed to cross the river, but vehicles were prohibited from passing. The district akim, Askar Kazybayev, reported that restoration work had begun and was planned to be completed within 24 hours.

The Aktobe Region Department of Emergency Situations reported that dozens of people, three excavators, three loaders, eight dump trucks are working at the spill site. A Trekol, a Vakhtovka lowboy and boats were sent to Uil. Servicemen from military unit 20982 also went to help.

By evening, the crossing was restored, but it was again under water. The Department of Emergency Situations assured that this was done intentionally to drain the accumulated water. On March 16, the authorities reported that residents were crossing the river by boat, and traffic remained closed.
