Kazakhstani becomes world champion in parabiathlon
Kazakh athlete Yerbol Khamitov won gold at the Parabiathlon World Championships in Pokljuka (Slovakia), the press service of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports .
In the individual 12.5-kilometer race, the Paralympian from Petropavlovsk finished first with a result of 35:29.01, having worked flawlessly on all four firing lines – without a single miss.
Silver was won by Canadian Derek Zaplatonski (35:36.3), bronze by American Aaron Pike (35:37.8).
For Yerbol Khamitov, this is already the second medal in the tournament. On February 6, he won bronze in the 7.5 km sprint, showing a time of 20:55.
